The Weeknd was at the center of a heat argument or controversial after he was snubbed at the 2021 Grammy Awards by the Recording Academy of the event. It was alleged that the singer was given the chance by the Recording Academy to choose whether to perform at the biggest stage in musical award shows or the halftime of the 2021 Superbowl.
Its stated that the singer told the board that he would like to perform at both events, and since that didn’t sound well with the board, he was snubbed during the announcement of the nomination.
The Weeknd in the music video of ‘Save Your Tears’ was alleged to have thrown some shades at the Recording Academy when he thrown a trophy away with the phrase “… i know i broke your heart when i let someone come between us…. and now you will love me on second chance….“
