Another date for the start of the 2023 Brought together Tertiary Registration Assessments (UTME) has been reported by the Joint Confirmations and Registration Board (Pillar).
The Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made the announcement in an Abuja-based statement on Sunday.
The board says that instead of starting on April 29, 2023, the UTME will start on April 25, 2023. Additionally, the mock UTME has been rescheduled by the board for April 18, 2023.
Statement Regarding the New UTME Date: “It should be recalled that JAMB had previously conducted its 2023 Mock-UTME on March 30 in 725 centers across the country.
However, some centers encountered technical difficulties during the exercise, preventing some candidates from taking the test.
The purpose of the board’s mock exam was to evaluate its and its partners’ preparedness for the UTME and to provide prospective candidates with a hands-on experience with the CBT test environment.
“It is, in this way, to give those up-and-comers, who couldn’t sit for the assessment attributable to no blame of theirs, the chance to take the assessment that the false assessment had been rescheduled to hang on Tuesday, April 18.”
As per Dr Fabian Benjamin, applicants who went through evaluating for the assessment yet couldn’t take it will presently take the fake assessment on April 18.
Benjamin also confirmed that the candidates who took the mock test on March 30 have received their results.
The board hopes that by doing this, no citizen will be denied the opportunity to fulfill their civic duties.
It is important to note that the board cannot move forward with its examination because other public examinations are scheduled to begin in the early part of May 2023.
He went on to say, “Yet another factor is the need to accommodate those institutions with stable academic calendars so that they can resume as scheduled.”
